CHAMBER
SIGNS ON TO LETTER TO PROMOTE A POSITIVE BUSINESS
ENVIRONMENT
The
Governmental Affairs Committee elected to sign onto
a letter written by the Denver Metro Chamber,
Colorado Competitive Council, and Colorado Concern,
which designated opposition to six pieces of
legislation that would have a negative impact on
Colorado business. The letter includes: SB10-185
(Residential Warrant of Habitability), HB10-1012
(Limit Surveillance Workers' Comp Claims), HB10-1017
(Voluntary Agreement Affecting Rent on Private
Residential Property), HB10-1263
(Limit Income Tax Benefit for Comp Paid), HB10-1269
(Workplace Fairness Civil Remedies Act). To

SECRETARY
OF STATE WORKING ON NOVEMBER BALLOT
The
Colorado Secretary of State's office is busily
working on determining which issues will be seen
on this year's ballot. Ballot initiatives
were due last Friday by 5:00 p.m. A total of 98
proposals have been filed since the last statewide
election. Taxes, liquor sales, payday
lending, renewable energy, health care, and
rafting are among the most represented
issues. Citizens aiming to place an issue on
the November ballot must follow numerous steps,
starting with filing a proposal with the
Legislative Council, and must have collected at
least 76,047 valid signatures. For more

A
RECORD 24 COLORADO BALLOT INITIATIVES FILED ON
RAFTING CONTROVERSY
A
battle pitting river rafters against private
landowners will likely be extended to the
Colorado ballot in November. Both sides
filed a record total of 24 proposed ballot
initiatives on the subject before the deadline

PROPOSITION
101, AMENDMENTS 60 AND 61
The
Secretary of State's office has determined at
least three issues for the November
Ballot. Proposition 101 regarding various
tax cuts, Amendment 60 on property tax cuts, and
Amendment 60 on debt prohibition will all be
issues Colorado citizens will be voting on later

PROPOSED
INITIATIVE WOULD ALLOW UTILITY COMPANIES TO OPT
OUT OF RENEWABLES

other renewable resources into their power
