CHAMBER
OPPOSES NEW VOTING REGULATIONS
Speaker
of the House Terrance Carroll and Secretary of State
Bernie Buescher are currently working on legislation
that would reform Colorado election rules.
Representative Carroll is still deciding whether or
not to run the bill this year, but with an
established Chamber position on the draft concepts,
the Chamber will be able to act quickly if the bill
is dropped. Among concerns of the current
draft of this legislation is the fact that voters
could submit a mail-in ballot and also show up to
vote at the polls on election day. In theory,
the initial ballot would be cancelled, however, this
system could greatly increase the potential for
voter fraud. To read more about or watch a
news clip covering the proposed election reform as
reported by 9News, click

Chamber's Governmental Affairs Committee voted to
oppose in concept legislation that would sunset all current
business tax
credits, exemptions, and exclusions. The
bill is being drafted by Representative Weissmann.

the Chamber will be able to act quickly should
this bill be dropped.
